Well. I've always thought Mokona Modoki were really cute, but that's not enough reason to build them a shrine for me. I guess there are three reasons for this.

The first one is a bit more shallow: I had saved most (if not all) the CLAMP-net images of Mokona when they were published in their album, and I wanted to share them with people who couldn't get them. I also have some nice wallpapers that I should upload someday.

The second one is the fact most of Mokona Modoki's backstory does not appear in either manga. CLAMP only let the readers know Mokona were created by Yuuko and Clow, based on Cephiro's Mokona, in order to help Sakura and Syaoran. And then? There are several short stories about their creation and learning process in a fancy little illustration book they released as merchandizing. As it's hard to get outside Japan, the majority of the fandom has no clue about some basic facts. Moreover, due to bad manga translations or misunderstandings, some people got confused and thought Mokona was white's name and Modoki was black's, when that's false. They're BOTH Mokona Modoki, and while they have individual names (Soel and Larg), they're never given in manga.

I guess I grew tired of being the canon whore and telling people they got it wrong...

Those two reasons had me decided I was going to make a Mokona Modoki shrine, to fill the void no general fansite was going to bother with. There was a lack of time and motivation, though. And then we hit the third reason: their relationship fanlisting was up to adoption. As the previous owner was waiting for me to have it done as soon as possible, I pressured myself to have the shrine ready and merge it with the fanlisting I had to finish anyway. That info and those goodies were a nice complement.

And that's it. Also, their backstory tales are cracktacular and had to be shared, don't you think?
